Nashville Homes After The Flood - Getting Rid Of Mold

After a flood, mold can grow in you home and obviously make you sick. Even if you've cleaned, mild can still reappear as I've discovered in my Nashville home. Here's a few tips on preventing mold.

• When in doubt take it out. Remove all porous items that have been wet for more than 48 hours.
• Use bleach to clean mold off of hard things (floors, sinks, stoves etc.
• Never mix bleach and ammonia or other cleaners.
• Mix no more than 1 cup of bleach to  1 gallon of water. Open your windows.
• Scrub surfaces with a stiff brush.
• Call an expert if the area to be cleaned is more than 10 square feet and
• If you plan to be in your home or building for a while, you should purchase an N95 mask.
